In Madrid, 1922, Dalí met both Federico Garcia Lorca and Luis Buñuel.  Dalí indulged his obsession with cinema and the entertainment industry through co-writing Luis Buñuel's 1929 film, Un Chien Andalou, and later, LAge d'Or.  The second film was banned for considerably erotic scenes, especially for the 1920's and 1930's.  Dalí was disappointed by this and several other projects in this industry, including the Alfred Hitchcok film, Spellbound,  whose Dalí-designed surrealist sets, though somewhat "nifty" for the time period, have always resembled just a little a toy diorama set.  However, Dalí continued to be intrigued by and to participate in the entertainment industry.

off Rue St. Anne in the Japanese quarter, in the small Rue Villedo
is situated a solid plain wooden board
that says clearly "café"
easy to spot from the main street
easy to miss otherwise

it's almost a no-name café
but in small painted letters you can find its' name
and hours, thank you for that

and next door
an lonely quiet establishment Cupidon
which states that single women enter free
single men pay 88 euros!
and they don't even get a free drink...
